Equipment Certification
The NC Pilates Equipment Instructor Certification program includes training on Pilates Reformer, Trapeze Table, Wunda Chair, Ladder Barrel & Spine Corrector. The complete program is approximately 250 hours in length. The total cost of the program is about $2,700.* plus the amount of the required text book.
Our equipment instructor training course takes approximately 12 months to complete. Groups typically meet once a month for four hours at a time. The cost of the equipment program is $30 per hour of time spent in group training. Students may pay as they go through the program. An hour of credit is awarded for each hour of attendance & participation in scheduled classes.
Daily practice of Pilates exercises is essential to your progress in becoming a good instructor. Between monthly training sessions, students will spend time taking lessons from fully certified instructors, observing sessions, & practicing on Pilates equipment. Students will also learn client assessment techniques, precautions & contraindications. Additional program costs may be associated with these areas of training.*
Apprentice teaching hours are also required. Typically, after about three months of scheduled training classes, apprentice instructor status may be achieved. At this level, earnings can be received for work with clients at NC Pilates.*
For the duration of the program, an hour of credit is awarded for each hour of self-study. Self-study may include attendance & participation in a Pilates conferences & time spent reading Pilates equipment manuals & videos (other than our selected texts & videos). Books & videos may be borrowed from the NCP library. Each student must maintain a detailed log of self-study hours for submission at the end of the program. In some cases, observing instructors initials must be noted. The required text costs about $20.* Selected videos will be reviewed together as a group.
*All program payment arrangements must be approved by Amy Michaels. An Independent Contractor agreement with NC Pilates must be in place to perform work as an Apprentice Instructor in our studio.
